This intricately turned and interesting pipe was first created as an experiment. I wanted to see how complex a pattern I could turn without making the piece seem too busy. Thankfully, the design I came up with is intricate in a way that reminds of the victorian era, and pays homage to the filigree so coveted then. This piece is fully functional, and sports the same walnut-on-maple construction as the rest of my line.
For bowl materials, walnut is the standard in regard to this line of pipes. Maple is much lighter in color, with light grain patterns, while oak can be coarse and more rugged. Briar is the choice material for any tobacco enthusiast's collection, having superior smoking properties due to its density and flavor.
Stripe stems can be walnut with maple stripes down the sides, or vise-versa. See replacement stems for pictures.
