This model was designed with a heavy influence from the pipe of the wizard Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings films. While not an exact replica, the shape and size carry the essence and feel of the famous churchwarden. This pipe is fully functional and ready to demand admiration.
Briar is the standard for pipe bowls. It has a deep tan-orange color with iridescent figure and birdseyes. It's the densest and most reliable bowl material by far, and is always my first recommendation. Cherry is also a good choice, and will darken in color to a deep red-brown with age. Maple is the lightest, with nearly invisible grain, where oak and ash have coarser grain patterns. Walnut is a deep brown color and is fit with a cherry or maple bowl insert.
Stripe stems can be walnut with maple stripes down the sides, or vise-versa. See replacement stems for pictures.
